That tiny newborn you once held in your arms is now crawling, walking, exploring and showing you more of their personality every day.
Their first birthday is such a wonderful little milestone to remember, not just with photographs of the cake, but with photographs of who your baby is right now.
The curious expressions. The cheeky smiles. The little hands. The proud little steps. The moments you wish you could bottle up and keep forever.
My cake smash sessions are designed to capture all of it, with simple, timeless styling that keeps the focus exactly where it belongs: on your baby.
The Cake Smash Session Experience
Your session begins with beautiful portraits of your baby before the cake comes out. This gives them time to settle into the studio, explore their surroundings and show me a little of who they are right now.
And there is plenty of time for you to get in there too.
You can cuddle your baby, cover them in kisses, play together and simply soak up this little stage of their life. If siblings are joining you, we'll capture those beautiful moments between them too, from curious little looks to cuddles, laughter and all the ways they love on their baby brother or sister.
Then comes the fun.
Some babies dive straight into their cake. Others poke it cautiously, crawl away, take a tiny taste or decide that the cake isn't nearly as interesting as everything else in the room. Whatever your baby does, I'll follow their lead and capture it.
We'll photograph the little details as well as the big moments: curious expressions, messy fingers, proud little steps, laughter, concentration and all the personality in between.
Once the cake has had its moment, we finish with a bubble bath, giving your baby another chance to splash, play and enjoy themselves while I capture those beautiful final photographs.
You don't need to make your baby smile or make them “perform”. You can simply enjoy watching them become completely absorbed in being one.

What if my baby…
What if my baby is unsure of the cake?
That’s completely normal. Many babies take time to warm up, and some prefer to explore slowly. There’s no pressure to perform — I gently guide the session at your baby’s pace, allowing their personality to lead.
What if my baby doesn’t smile?
Of course we hope for smiles — and very often, they come. But babies experience new things in their own way. Some observe quietly, some concentrate deeply, and others save their smiles for later in the session. I allow time and space for your baby to warm up, capturing genuine expressions as they unfold, without pressure or expectation.
What if my baby just wants to crawl or walk?
Perfect. Cake smash sessions are active by nature, and I allow space for movement and exploration. These moments often result in the most natural and joyful photographs.
What if my baby doesn’t touch the cake?
That’s okay too. Some babies prefer bubbles, splashing, or simply watching. The session includes a variety of moments beyond the cake, so you’ll still have a beautiful, complete gallery.
What if it feels a bit chaotic?
That’s part of the magic. Cake smash sessions are fun, playful and sometimes a little messy — I’ll guide you throughout so it never feels stressful or rushed.
